Stephanya is a San Francisco Bay Area native. She began singing at the young age of 9 in her local church. She studied Music and Fine Arts at San Jose State University which helped her go on to win several State and National competitions. With her strong vibrant voice, this background supplied her with the skills, knowledge and discipline needed for a musical future. Her gospel choir background gave her a foundation to build an R&B sound which led her to perform with bands that have toured Japan, Canada, England, China and the United States. Stephanya has recorded and performed with well known Grammy winning artists such as Bryan Carter of ConFunkShun, Larry Braggs of Tower of Power, rock band Y&T, “Moogie” Clemons of Cameo. In a different arena, Stephanya has recorded for Sony Play Station 2 video games. Her sultry voice can be heard on the #1 selling game in the world “Karaoke Revolution” Vol.’s 1, 2, 3 and the most current Vol 4. Stephanya’s performances are endless to name a few, a requested performance for California’s former State Speaker and San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, Rev. Jesse Jackson, also opening for R&B legends such as Rose Royce and Morris Day & The Time. Stephanya’s sign is Libra and favorite snack food is gummy worms. Eric “EQ” Young bass player, a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and a veteran of the stage. EQ's a former Quincy Jones recording artist and has played for Confunkshun, The Dazz Band, and Radiance. EQ has toured the States and internationally for over twenty years and recently traveled to Iraq to play for our troops. "Not just your average musician but an entertainer”. You might catch him in Japan or in the Caribbean or maybe your local jam session. "Born to do this" is what EQ always tell his friends and fans all around the world. EQ’s TV credits include HBO, Soul Train, Motown Live, Sinbad. He's also been featured in Japan's Bass Magazine along with idols Larry Graham and Stanley Clark. A true "Rockstar". Adam was born in Richmond, CA and comes from a muscial family background. His father, also a drummer taught Adam to play drums when he was a small boy. Since then, Adam has made a name for himself playing with chart topping muscians such as Larry Graham. With an California Music Award under his belt playing with "Marginal Prophets", the sky is the limit. “You gotta have these drum samples!!!”, says James R. McKinney Musician/Songwriter/Producer/Arranger James has performed with Artist such as Buddy Miles, Edwin Starr, The Commadores, Tina Marie, The Dazz Band, New Birth, Lenny Williams (Tower of Power), The Originals, James Brown, The Pointer Sisters. As a writer/studio musician, he has worked with McFadden & Whitehead, Norm Whitfield (Temptation & Rolls Royce), Holland, Dozier & Holland, Gamble & Huff & Marvin Gaye. James also made an enormous presence with MCA & Hush Productions as a staff writer writing for artist such as Freddie Jackson, Melba Moore, Ray Goodman & Brown, Ron Isley, Chaka Khan, SWV, Bobbie Womack, Lenny Wiilliams, Vesta Williams and many more. Now this is a career musician that has earned the right to “name drop”. M8TRIX is honored to have James "Jimi" as a part of it’s family. With over 20 years experience performing with Artists such as the "Gap Band", David thrives on delivering a memorable performance that will inspire other to become professional musicians. Born in Denver, CO, then migrating to the San Francisco Bay Area David has performed in venues all over the world as a master keyboardist and playing guitar (his first love). And if that wasn't enough, he is an excellent self-taught drummer. Armed with an innate since of groove and feel, he can lead the way with a blazing solo or lay back in the pocket and provide splashes of harmonic color. The musical passion and tonal texture that flow from this talented musician clearly expressed his love for music. M8TIRX is honored to have him on board.
